Hannah Williams comes to us from Carbon County WY where she previously spent time as an elementary school counselor in Hanna, WY. Hannah is a native to the Big Horn Basin having been raised in Greybull, where she graduated high school. She then attended the University of Wyoming where she got her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in History and Family and Human Development.
During her undergraduate years she spent time working at an inpatient residential treatment facility for youth where she worked with many different adolescents. During her time there she performed group counseling as well as individual sessions with clients. She then pursued her Masters from Chadron State College while working as a K-6 counselor for North Carbon County School District No. 2. She excited to work for Fern Ridge Counseling and be able to provide Mental Health Services to all of the clients.
Hannah has extensive experience working with children and at-risk youth, but is ready to expand her repertoire. She believes in using a multitude of strength-based practices and evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Person-Centered Psychotherapy (PCT). She has experience working with clients with attachment disorders, conduct disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Intellectual Development Disorder (IDD).
Experience and Training: Hannah is a trainer for the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Certification (ASIST), and QPR Suicide Prevention Training.
