Edgar Lopez is newly engaged and proposed to his fiance while swimming with dolphins in May 2021. He is a Master of Social Work currently in the state of New York and has his Provisional license in Wyoming. He has developed a well rounded experience working with Veterans, families, individuals, refugees, adolescents, and group therapy. He is fluent in Spanish and has experience conducting intakes and discharge plannings in Spanish. He is a recently hired professional under the private practice Fern Ridge Counseling, LLC, which won the 2019 Best of Cody for Mental Health.
Edgar Lopez achieved his Associates degree in Psychology at LaGuardia Community College. He then achieved his Bachelors of Sciences in Human Development and Arts in Education before completing his Master’s degree in Social Work at Binghamton University. His well rounded experiences in mental health stems from working with diverse populations such as Substance-Use populations, at-risk youth concurrent with the foster care system, and Immigrant and migrant populations. He dedicates his spare time on research to continuously build his repertoire, as well as using his creativity to facilitate engagement through story-telling and poetry. Utilizing a multitude of strengths-based and evidence-based practice, such as Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Multisystemic therapy: Family Integrated Transitions (MST-FIT), Solution focused therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioral Arts Therapy, Edgar Lopez is dedicated to providing a patient and understanding environment for his clients.
