Family Nurse Practitioner

Schedule Appointment
Angelia Lomu is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for reducing the stigma associated with mental health and addiction. She started her career in the medical field as Certified Nurse Assistant from 2001 to 2009. After finishing her Associates of Science in Nursing at Casper College in 2009 she spent several years gaining experience in long term care, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, and infectious disease. She attained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 from the University of Wyoming. In 2018 she finished her Master of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University in Chicago. Since finishing her Family Nurse Practitioner certification she worked a short time in urgent care, until opening her own clinic in Casper, Wyoming. She offered primary care, mental health, women’s health, occupational health, and IV nutritional support for overall wellness.  With the help of her loving husband, she worked hard to grow her business. In addition to building her private practice, she worked in chronic pain management and addiction medicine. It was there that she found her niche. She fell in love with practicing addiction medicine and treating mental health conditions. She found purpose and meaning in her career. During the midst of the pandemic, she found it necessary to close her practice in Casper. Angelia, her husband and two daughters moved to Oregon where she continued working in addiction medicine and mental health with one of the nation’s most prominent addiction medicine organizations. After nearly two years in Oregon, she and her family have relocated back home, in Wyoming.

In 2011, after nearly 10 years together, Angelia was married to her life partner and best friend, Allan. Angelia is the mother of four amazing children and was blessed with her first grandson in December 2021. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, being outside, going for long early morning walks with her husband, and spending time with her family. “I really do feel like addiction medicine and mental health are my true calling. I feel like my work is meaningful and it has become my mission to reduce the stigma that is associated with mental health conditions and addiction. To me, patient care means treating the person sitting in front of me as human being in a holistic and compassionate manner. My goal is to create an environment for my patients in which they feel safe. It is important to me that anyone that is in my care knows that I see them as a human, and not as the given diagnosis. My mantra is ‘Your diagnosis/addiction does not define you as human’.”
