Neisha Potter, MSW, LCSW

Neisha Potter, a married and devoted mother of four, brings her extraordinary compassion to her Licensed Clinical Social Worker role. Her professional experience in mental health, spanning Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and Florida, is a testament to her dedication. As the owner and mental health provider of Fern Ridge Counseling, LLC & Wellness Center, she has led the practice to win the 2024 Best of the Big Horn Basin award, the Best of Cody 2024, and the 2019 Best of Cody for Mental Health Services. Her entrepreneurial spirit and excellent leadership show her relentless passion and love for people. Neisha also volunteers her time as a writer and professional contributor on mental health for Clash Daily and Cody Living Magazine. She is an American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Volunteer, a member of the American Psychological Association Division 52, and a member of the Middle East Psychological Association. She has been inducted into the Societal Collegiate of Achievement and Leadership for academic excellence.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the prestigious Chicago School of Professional Psychology, majoring in International Psychology, which beautifully complements her diverse experience. With a strong background in culture and diversity, she has had the remarkable opportunity to study abroad in Morocco, focusing on the intersectionality of culture. Her academic journey also includes a study program in Germany, where she explored the causes and effects of trauma. She also studied prosociality and cultural health in Japan. This summer, she will embark on another international experience in Switzerland to further her education in spirituality and addiction at the Jung Institute. She is set to embark on an exciting opportunity focused on parenting across cultures in Vietnam during the Spring. This program will delve into the diverse parenting practices and family dynamics found in various Vietnamese communities, allowing her to gain valuable insights and firsthand experience in cross-cultural approaches to child-rearing.
 
She holds a master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla University and completed a double major in Psychology and Christian Ministry at Dallas Baptist University. Utilizing clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, she provides treatment for clients dealing with depression, anxiety, sexual abuse and trauma, relationship and marital issues, as well as challenges faced by children and adolescents, families, insomnia, anger management, personality disorders, low self-esteem, and grief and bereavement. She is deeply committed to the helping profession and excels at meeting individuals where they are with a nonjudgmental, empowering, and personalized approach.

Her extensive training further underscores Neisha Potter's expertise. She is Certified in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), Certified Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a Certified Substance Use Provider (SUD), Certified Personality Disorders, a Certified Mood Disorder Professional (CMDP), a Certified ADHD Professional (ADHD-CCPS), a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS), and a Gottman Specialist Level 2 Certified.

She is trained in Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorders (ODD), Christian-Based Counseling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Play Therapy. She has been taught Cognitive behavioral therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Internal family systems (IFS), Family Systems Model (FST), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET), Neurofeedback, Solution focused therapy (SFT), Advanced Dementia, Geriatrics, Death & Dying, Personality Disorders, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Certification (ASIST).
